About unmaskd.

What is unmaskd.?
unmaskd. is designed with neurodiversity in mind, and open to adults who value communicating without masking. You can use it for friendship, dating, collaboration, or simply community — without having to mask who you are to be understood and welcomed.
Who is unmaskd. for?
unmaskd. was designed with neurodiversity in mind — including people with ADHD, autism, dyslexia, dyspraxia, OCD, sensory processing differences, and more — and it's open to adults who value communicating without masking. You do not need a diagnosis or to identify as neurodivergent to join. unmaskd. is also fully LGBTQIA2S+ affirming.
Do I have to disclose my neurotype?
No. You choose exactly what to share and who can see it. ND identifiers, support needs, and communication styles all have individual visibility controls — public, connections only, or hidden. You can join and connect without disclosing anything you are not comfortable sharing.
Why do I need to be 18+ to join?
unmaskd. is built exclusively for adults. That is a deliberate safety choice, not just a legal one — it keeps unmaskd. an adults-only space and helps protect younger people. We check age at signup, and take reports of underage use seriously.
Is unmaskd. only for dating?
No. You set your own connection goals: friendship, collaboration, or dating — any combination. Profiles only show the sections relevant to what you are looking for.

Getting started

How do I create an account?
Sign up with your email address and create a password. You will receive a verification email to confirm your address before you can send messages or connect with others.
What should I fill in on my profile?
Start with what feels comfortable. A display name and a short bio go a long way. From there, add connection goals, interests, and communication styles at your own pace. A more complete profile gives people more to connect with, but there is no pressure to share anything you are not ready to share.
How does profile visibility work?
Your profile is public by default, meaning it appears in Discover. You can switch it to private in Privacy Controls, which hides you from Discover and limits your profile to accepted connections only. Individual profile sections (age, location, support needs, etc.) each have their own separate visibility setting.
What is profile verification?
Verification is optional. If you choose to verify, our team reviews your selfie and adds a verified badge to your profile. It shows that the account completed unmaskd.'s selfie check — it doesn't verify everything else on the profile. It does not affect discovery ranking or unlock any premium features — it is purely a trust signal. unmaskd. does not conduct criminal background checks on members.

Connections and messaging

How do I connect with someone?
Browse Discover or Circles, open a profile, and send a connection request. The other person can accept or decline. Once accepted, you can message each other directly.
Can I control who can send me connection requests?
Yes. In Privacy Controls, you can limit connection requests to verified profiles only. You can also block any member at any time to stop all contact immediately.
What are Circles?
Circles are small community spaces organised around shared interests, identities, or topics. You can join circles, post, reply, and connect with people you meet there — even if you have not matched directly.
Can I take a break from messaging?
Yes. You can deactivate your account temporarily from Account Settings. While deactivated, your profile is hidden and you will not appear in Discover. Reactivate any time by logging in.

Safety and moderation

How does unmaskd. handle harassment or abuse?
Harassment, hate speech, bullying, threats, ableism, exploitation, grooming, and sexual coercion are not allowed. Reports are reviewed, and serious or repeated violations can lead to permanent removal. For threats, exploitation, or illegal activity, we may also preserve records and work with law enforcement. You can report any profile or message using the report button, or email [email protected] directly.
Does unmaskd. do background checks?
No. unmaskd. does not conduct criminal background checks on members. Always exercise your own judgement when meeting someone new, especially offline. See our Safety page for guidance on meeting safely.
What should I do if I think someone is a scammer?
Stop contact immediately, do not send money or personal details, and report the profile. Common warning signs: moving very fast emotionally, avoiding video calls, inventing urgent financial crises, or asking you to switch to a different platform. See our Safety page for more detail.
How do I block someone?
Open their profile and use the Block option. Blocking immediately prevents all contact in both directions and removes them from your Discover results. You can manage blocked accounts in Settings.

Account and data

Does unmaskd. sell my data?
No. unmaskd. has never and will never sell your data. We do not show ads, share your information with advertisers, or use your ND identifiers or support needs for any commercial purpose. See our Privacy Policy for the full picture.
How do I delete my account?
Go to Settings → Account settings → Delete account. Deletion removes your profile, messages, photos, and credentials. The process completes within 30 days.
Can I download my data?
We are building data export functionality. In the meantime, email [email protected] to request a copy of your data and we will respond within 30 days.
How do I change my email or password?
Go to Settings → Account settings. You can update your email address and password there. Changing your email requires re-verification with the new address.
