Adult friendship doesn't have to be this hard
If it feels harder to make friends now than it used to, that's not just you. It's not something you're doing wrong, either.
What changed isn't you
School, teams, and shared schedules used to put people together automatically, again and again. Once that structure ends, every friendship needs someone to actively choose it — to reach out, follow up, make plans. That's a real skill, not a personality trait, and it's one most people were never taught.
You don't need a diagnosis to belong here
unmaskd. was designed with neurodivergent people's needs in mind first. But you don't have to identify as neurodivergent, or have a diagnosis, to join. If clearer communication and less social guesswork sound good to you, that's enough.
How unmaskd. helps
Your profile states your communication style and what kind of friendship you're looking for, before anyone has to guess. Discovery shows you people based on what you're actually looking for, not an engagement algorithm. And there's no pressure to reply instantly; slower paces are expected, not penalized.
A small, real community, not an algorithm
unmaskd. is still small and growing on purpose, one real member at a time. It's not built to maximize how often you check it.
